Diagnostic services
We use some of the most advanced techniques and equipment available to provide a high quality medical diagnostics service.
With Picture Archiving and Communications System, more commonly known as PACS, this enables images such as x-rays and scans to be stored electronically and viewed on screens, so that doctors and other health professionals can access the information and compare it with previous images at the touch of a button.
Our services include:
MRI
We have the first Toshiba 1.5T excelART 128 channel MRI scanner in the UK.
MRI uses a combination of strong magnetic fields and radio waves to produce exquisitely detailed pictures of any part of the body. Used extensively in the imaging of sports injuries, MRI is used for assessing joints, prior to any surgery or treatment. MRI gives excellent detail of all soft tissues including ligaments and tendons.
X-ray
We have a dedicated x-ray room which can provide plain radiographic examinations for a full range of procedures including:
- Chest x-ray
- Axial skeleton
- Peripheral skeleton
Ultrasound
This is a non-invasive non-ionising test. We have two dedicated Ultrasound rooms allowing a range of images including:
- Musculoskeletal areas (joints)
- Abdomen and pelvis
- Vascular studies (arteries, veins – including varicose vein mapping and carotid studies)
- Soft tissue
